I almost wonder where the kid got that from. Maybe some weirdness between his own parents?
Either way, Kudos to you twice over. First, for doing your best to defuse the situation, and second for having such an awesome kid. I hope when I have kids of my own that they're that with it.
Oh that rocks. The silent moments of understanding absolutely ROCK. I have them often with my mom and with my husband -- can't imagine how special it will be to have them with Linnea someday.
